SSC CHSL 2017 Recruitment Notification Released

Staff Selection Commission[SSC] has released SSC CHSL 2017 Recruitment Notification for the Post of Data Entry Operator(DEO), Lower Divisional Clerk(LDC), Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant(PA/SA) and Junior Secretariat Assistant(JSA).

Important Dates

Date of Tier-I SSC CHSL Examination – 4th March to 26th March 2018

Date of Tier-II SSC CHSL Examination(Descriptive Paper) – 08/07/2018


Age Limit

Age of the Candidate should be between 18-27 years as on 01.08.2018. Born not before 02-08-1991 and not later than 01-08-2000.


Educational Qualification

As on 01.08.2018

  1. Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
  2. For Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

Application Fee

Application Fee for SSC CHSL 2017 is Rs100/-

Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Ex-servicemen (ExS) eligible for Reservation and Persons with Disability (PwD) are exempted from fee payment.


Examination scheme

SSC CHSL 2017 will consist of Tier-I(Computer based Online Examination), Tier-II(Descriptive Paper), and Tier-III(Typing/Skill Test).

Tier-I Examination

  • There is negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong question in Tier 1
  • For visually handicapped candidates time duration of Tier 1 Exam is 80 Minutes.

Tier-II Examination

Tier-II of SSC CHSL is taken to check the written skills of Hindi/English of the candidates. This exam is conducted in pen and paper mode and candidates can choose Hindi or English language to write the test. In this descriptive test candidates need to write two Application/Letter/Essay. Refer to NCERT books for formats and read newspaper article daily to prepare for the content. You can also check study material available on our website.
1.Time duration of the Test is 60 minutes and carries 100 Marks 
For VH candidates time duration is 80 minutes.

Tier-III Examination

Tier-III of the Examination would be the Skill Test/ Typing Test which would be of qualifying nature. The final merit of the successful candidates would be determined on the basis of total score obtained by them in Tier-I and Tier-II.
